TAIKOPROJECT: Japanese Drum Performance | Arts & Culture

Ever wondered what the word drum is in Japanese? An event at Central College will be sure to enlighten you.

A free Taiko performance is set for February 12th. The performance will be played by the TAIKOPROJECT, an ensemble of drummers dedicated to promoting and advancing the art.

The organizers say performance like these help preserve taiko as a vibrant element of Japanese-American culture and heritage.

The group have previously performed on NBC's The Voice and are playing as part of a 2 week tour of Iowa. They will also visit Fairfield and Greenfield.

The performance will start at 7:30 p.m.  in the Graham Banquet Room.
